Wohoo! Finally my four chosen polishes from China Glaze’s fall collection, Metro, has arrived!! 😀
I chose Skyscraper, Trendsetter and Midtown Magic from the Downtown set and CG in the City from the Uptown set.
I might get more, but don’t know yet.
Today I’m going to show you Skyscraper, which was my hands down favourite from swatches I have seen so far.
I like it ALOT! It’s lots of silver glitter in a dark blue jelly. This is 2 coats:
As you can see I have the wrong bottle in my hand. I grabbed “the” polish and went outside to take the picture and ended up having to walk a little to find sun as I took the pictures quite late. When I was ready to take the pictures I realised I had the wrong polish with me and I couldn’t be bother to go back and change. Hope you forgive me!? 😉 (The bottle is China Glaze CG in the City)
So, what do you think? It is a beauty, isn’t it? 🙂
The only negative was that the formula was abit “gooey”, but some thinner will probably do the trick there.
I also have a little sneakpeek of all four, as I swatched them each on a nail to try them out:
From left: Skyscraper, Trendsetter, CG in the City and Midtown Magic.
Of the four I actually love Trendsetter and Midtown Magic the most! How crazy is that? Especially with Skyscraper being blue and CG in the City being abit purple AND they’re both glitters!? Someone call a doctor, I must be ill… 😛
Talking about doctors, that’s what’s occupied my free time lately. Me and my boyfriend are completely hooked on House! We’re now about to start season 3 and there is in total 7 seasons (so far)! phew!
One last thing before I say good night. I just remembered that when I showed you Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Grass Slipper I told you that I layered it the after. With KleanColor Chunky Holo Clover of course! And HERE it finally is:
Whatcha think? 🙂
Good night all nail polish junkies!
xx Karoline! 🙂
Hello everyone 🙂
The other day when I posted my layering experiment with the 2 Golden Rose polishes and KleanColor Chunky Holo Black, I received a comment from a regular reader, Jane. She doesn’t have a blog yet, but I think she’s thinking about getting one 😉
She suggested that it would look great with a matte top coat and seriously, as I was reading her comment something happened. I just completely stopped doing what I was doing and went and found my Essie Matte About You straight away. That’s the positive thing about posting what you’re wearing instead of posting it later. 🙂
Ok, before I show you this picture I have to warn you about major tip wear, I was supposed to redo my nails that day, but just had to war them matte for a day 🙂
How cool isn’t this? I must say, I am abit more fan of the shiny, glossy surface, but it is a cool change and a very good way to show you how all the glitter in there really looks like 😉
What do you think? Which one was your favourite?
I’ll post the Norwegian Salmon later today 🙂
xx Karoline 🙂
Hello everyone! What I’m going to show you today must be the most fab thing I’ve ever had on my nails and I’m not going to hide that it’s inspired of The Swatchaholic!
I have a new, very good friend who has started to get her nails done by me about once a week. And she just got back from Germany where she was in Berlin and some city in Poland and did a little nail polish shopping for me. The two Golden Rose polishes came from her, not sure where she bought them though.. Give me a shout if you’re interested and I’ll ask her! 🙂
Well, let’s get to the nails, this is Golden Rose 194 by it’s own:
And here it is with Golden Rose 166 on top:
And now, the awesomeness! With KleanColor Chunky Holo Black on top of that:
This really deserved 3 pictures! Im in awe! And can’t get enough of looking at my nails! WOW 😀
The Golden Rose polishes were a dream to apply, the blue was a 2-coater and I had one coat of the glitter one. The glitter spread perfectly, not like some glitter polishes where you either get nothing or you get too much all lumped.
Apart from that the KleanColor polishes really STINK, they really are lovely. Great to apply, looks fantastic and dries pretty fast.
So, what do you think of this?
Take Care, everyone 🙂
xx Karoline 🙂
Good morning 🙂
When this is getting posted I’m probably sound asleep in my bed. I’m writing this now, before I go to bed 🙂
Tonight we’ve had a really great evening. Some really good friends of us took the initiative to invite all our closest friends, so we were all in all five couples, for dinner. And we actually managed to be there, every single one of us, even though it’s in the middle of summer holidays and Kenneth being back and forth from the hospital (he’s finally home for now at least :)).
We have such a great bunch of friends and all of us get along so well that it’s a real pleasure to spend time together 🙂
If any of you guys read this post, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS GREAT NIGHT 🙂
Well, on to the polish, I want to show you Orly Bailamos from the Viva Collection from last summer (2010).
It’s quite an interesting colour, as it’s a turquoise that has a good hint of teal in it I think. I must say I love it 🙂 (as always.. haha)
And I don’t really have many Orly polishes, but I have to say that they do surprise me every time with the great formula and application. This was almost a one-coater, in the pictures I have 2 thin coats.
Looking at this picture makes me want to repaint my nails again. I am officialy IN LOVE with this colour! ♥ ♥
Take Care, everyone 🙂
xx Karoline 🙂
Hello everyone! 🙂
Hope you’ve all had a nice weekend! Gosh, it went by very fast! My mum had her birthday yesterday and celebrating it both yesterday and today with barbeque and cakes and also a very good friend of us have finished her Masters Degree and invited us all to celebrate on saturday and she served cake as well. Wow! We’ve eaten alot!! haha..
I did a mani last night that ended up a disaster! haha.. I have to prepare myself for posting it! 😛 I didn’t have time last night, but today I redid my nails as soon as I had time and this time I tried out OPI’s Navy Shatter on top of China Glaze IDK from the OMG collection.
Funny how Blue Shatter ends up being the last one I’ll test out of the three blue-toned shatters from OPI..
Here you have beautiful China Glaze IDK on it’s own:
I think this is one of my favourite nail polishes. Well, at least a safe one. I’ll always love my nails wearing this one, so if I can’t decide what to wear I might put this one on! 🙂
And here with a coat of OPI Navy Shatter on top and then 2 coats with Seche Vite to seal it on top of that:
I’m happy with this one as well.. Haha, I feel like I’m saying that about everything lately! (Apart from my disastrous mani earlier this weekend)
There’s so many pretty colours and combinations! If only I had the time to change twice a day! (Thank god really, that wouldn’t be very nice to my nails..)
Hope you enjoyed this one!? 🙂
Any of you who have any of the China Glaze OMG polishes or OPI Shatters? If yes, which ones? 🙂
Have a great start on a new week everyone! 🙂
xx Karoline 🙂
Good Friday everyone! Yay! It’s finally weekend, even though I was lucky and started my weekend when I got home from work yesterday! 😛
Of the 3 blue-toned OPI shatters I was most excited about Blue Shatter for some reason. But, when I saw them in real life there’s no doubt that Turquoise Shatter is my favourite! So it had to be the first one to get used.
I put it on top of one coat of OPI Mod About You with one coat of OPI Teenage Dream from the Katy Perry Collection on top.
Here you have Mod About You + Teenage Dream, a very cute combination that reminds me of candy floss:
The pictures are taken outside in daylight, but with rain and dark clouds in the air. No sun here in Stavanger! Just wondering when summer is going to start…
I really liked this combination on its own, proper girly-girl! 🙂
And now it’s time for the Turquoise Shatter:
I really enjoy this! It is certainly alot of fun 🙂 My niece loved them! 🙂
Too bad there’s no sun here, you should have seen how much this sparkles! But I guess anyone familiar with Teenage Dream knows that 🙂
So, what do you guys think of this? 🙂
Thanks for looking and have a great weekend! Hopefully a sunny one! 😉
xx Karoline 🙂
