OPI DS Desire

Good Saturday evening peeps!

Tonight we have watched about half of season 3 and we got a little tired of Dr. Gregory House for a while.
Soo, I’m going to show you the polish that probably once was the biggest lemming I have ever had for a polish; OPI Designer Series ‘DS’ Desire.
I remember for a long time ago, when I first started my nail polish addiction I saw this polish on Scrangies blog and knew I just HAD to have it.

So, I have to show you guys! I have had it for quite some time and worn it a couple of times, it IS a beauty! Even more in real life than what pictures show;

A brown holo! ♥ Do I need to say more?

China Glaze Skyscraper (and a little more)

Wohoo! Finally my four chosen polishes from China Glaze’s fall collection, Metro, has arrived!! 😀

I chose Skyscraper, Trendsetter and Midtown Magic from the Downtown set and CG in the City from the Uptown set.
I might get more, but don’t know yet.

Today I’m going to show you Skyscraper, which was my hands down favourite from swatches I have seen so far.
I like it ALOT! It’s lots of silver glitter in a dark blue jelly. This is 2 coats:

As you can see I have the wrong bottle in my hand. I grabbed “the” polish and went outside to take the picture and ended up having to walk a little to find sun as I took the pictures quite late. When I was ready to take the pictures I realised I had the wrong polish with me and I couldn’t be bother to go back and change. Hope you forgive me!? 😉 (The bottle is China Glaze CG in the City)

So, what do you think? It is a beauty, isn’t it? 🙂

The only negative was that the formula was abit “gooey”, but some thinner will probably do the trick there.

I also have a little sneakpeek of all four, as I swatched them each on a nail to try them out:

Of the four I actually love Trendsetter and Midtown Magic the most! How crazy is that? Especially with Skyscraper being blue and CG in the City being abit purple AND they’re both glitters!? Someone call a doctor, I must be ill… 😛

Talking about doctors, that’s what’s occupied my free time lately. Me and my boyfriend are completely hooked on House! We’re now about to start season 3 and there is in total 7 seasons (so far)! phew!

One last thing before I say good night. I just remembered that when I showed you Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Grass Slipper I told you that I layered it the after. With KleanColor Chunky Holo Clover of course! And HERE it finally is:

Running and NOTD: OPI My Private Jet HOLO

Good evening!

Just got back from a nice run with my good friend Silje! We’re starting a tradition from now on. Every Sunday we’re going for a run. And our goal is to get better and better.. We’re not excactly marathon runners now, so we can do alot of improving! 😉

I usually was a runner-hater / anti-runner or whatever you like to call it. I used to be one of those people looking at everyone else actually running with envy and thinking horrible things about them just because I was so jealous some people actually could enjoy it.
Every time I have tried to be good and try this I end up hyperventilating because I never breathe right,  getting a feeling that I’m going to die if I don’t stop soon after only 50 metres and getting the awful taste of blood in my mouth.

So what is different now? Well, on my few days away I actually packed sports wear and running shoes for some strange reason! And when my brother and sister in law who are both active runners heard that, they managed to get me to join them.
And as it turns out, you don’t have to run as if you were haunted by something! That’s kind of what I have always done.
I ended up enjoying it! Especially the part when we got home and I sat there looking out into the fjords as the sun was about to set behind the mountains, drinking a huge glass of water . Even though I don’t have the same scenery to look at when I get home here, I still enjoy this great feeling that I always envied every runner for having. And I feel proud of myself! 🙂

Onto todays nail polish, well actually I’m wearing ESSIE Super Bossa Nova today, but I’m going to show you a good old one that has been a huge lemming of mine for a long time and even though I’ve had it for a long time now I had to wait for the perfect day to wear it.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Grass Slipper

Oh god, I’m becoming “one of them”.
One of those bloggers who always promises to blog more, come back stronger blah blah..
Ok, I’m going to stop promising anything and just blog when I feel like it. It’s not like it’s a duty. It’s supposed to be fun and for some reason as soon as I HAVE to do something it’s not much fun anymore 😛 haha

Anyhow, this is the one polish I got in Risør, when I was there. And old Sally Hansen polish, but a new one to us here in Norway.
This is my first try with the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polishes and this is  my thoughts:

I love the bottle and the lid. It’s larger than I thought after just seeing pictures of it.
The brush stick is LONG and flat and both are negatives to me because it just takes some getting used to as its unusually long and when it’s flat it  grabs polish like crazy and you really have to wipe it off well to prevent getting a huge drop on the nail.
The brush bristles are wide and curved kind of like IsaDora and YSL polishes, I know many of you in the nail polish world hate this brush, but personally, I love it. It fits my nails perfectly.
The formula on this particular one is abit weird. There’s no problem applying it and it looks very pigmented, but you still see the nail line through.. Weird.
On the picture I show you here I have 3 coats! It also dries a shade darker than it is in the bottle.

Right. Here you have Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Grass Slipper:

I LOVE the colour though!! I was looking at my nails ALL the time when wearing it and I have also painted my toes in the same colour.

Hello Lacqueristas! I’m back! :)

I am finally back from my little get-away! I’ve had some really fabulous days with my mum, stepdad, brother, his wife and their two beautiful children.
I also got to meet up with 3 of my cousins and their families, 3 of my aunties and husbands, 2 cats, a couple of old friends and last but not least, the archipelago! (I’m going to be honest and tell you I had to google translate that word, for those of you that are Norwegian, it means “skjærgården”)

I have eaten a lot of watermelon, ice cream, “boller” (norwegian sweet buns/teabread) and fish, gotten sunburnt, bought one new nail polish and a pair of shoes, been in a small zoo, had two trips in our boat, taken hundreds of pictures, done a photo-job, five manicures and had ALOT OF FUN!

Whew! I think that summed up my days pretty well 😉

So as you probably can tell, I have had quite a busy week and my nails haven’t really been the highest priority.. I have broken  my index finger nail and my cuticles are drier than ever before…

The polish I show you today is from the day before I left. I present to you OPI I Lily Love You from the Nice Stems! Collection Summer 2011:

This is over IsaDora Glamour White that you can see on it’s own at Stine Marie’s blogg HERE.
I tested it and it looks exactly the same over a normal white polish. You don’t really notice the shimmer.

This is so beautiful! I wish, wish, WISH OPI would do more of these kind of polishes! 🙂

A England Lady of the Lake

After this post I will be on holiday for a week. 🙂 😦 Both happy and sad face, happy because of course I want to go on a holiday and sad because I think I will miss the blog.. 😛

The polish I’m going to show you today Is one of the 2 polishes from The Mythicals Collection that has been given alot of attention;
A England Lady of the Lake. (the second one being Tristam)

I must admit, seeing all the pictures posted around the internet of this one, I never really understood the fuzz about it.
Now I do. After seeing it in real life. It’s a hard polish to capture in pictures.
Everyone who enjoy purple, holo, shimmer and good opacity should own this one.
It was a real dream to apply, this is 2 coats, but 1 thick could have been enough.
I did manage to get one picture where the subtle holo effect shows, here it is;

It’s not much, but it’s just enough to make this stunning, but at the same time very sophisticated.
Perfect for those who love holographic polishes, but doesn’t necessarily want everyone to look at her hands ALL the time 😉

Layering experiment with OPI Norwegian Salmon

Hello everyone! I am SO sorry I suddenly disappeared! And soon I will disappear again. But that’s summer I guess..

Today I want to show you what happened to OPI Norwegian Salmon after a day. I got kind of bored of the plain creme finish so I had to spice it up abit 😉

I layered it with KleanColor Chunky Holo Poppy and then Essie Kisses And Bises on top of that.

And this is how it ended up! How pretty is that? 🙂

Kisses And Bises is from the French Affair Collection from Spring 2011  and I have had it for quite some time, but haven’t tried it until now. It’s pretty boring on it’s own, but very pretty layered 😀

What do you think of this combination? Like it?

OPI Norwegian Salmon

The time has come, for me to show you OPI Norwegian Salmon from Scandinavian Collection from 1994, I must be honest and say that it’s nothing special apart from the name 😉

This is 2 coats, with a third one it would have been completely opaque, but there’s more VNL in the pics than in real life.
A day ago since I mentioned how I rarely wear red, and then I post another reddish colour in 2 days 😛
Well, this is more of a burnt orange/coral in my eyes. I did like it alot, but I wouldn’t say it’s worth the hazzle of getting it..

Heres the bottle, those of you who own any OPI polishes will see the difference 😛

My layering experiment with Essie Matte About You.

Hello everyone 🙂

The other day when I posted my layering experiment with the 2 Golden Rose polishes and KleanColor Chunky Holo Black, I received a comment from a regular reader, Jane. She doesn’t have a blog yet, but I think she’s thinking about getting one 😉

She suggested that it would look great with a matte top coat and seriously, as I was reading her comment something happened. I just completely stopped doing what I was doing and went and found my Essie Matte About You straight away. That’s the positive thing about posting what you’re wearing instead of posting it later. 🙂

Ok, before I show you this picture I have to warn you about major tip wear, I was supposed to redo my nails that day, but just had to war them matte for a day 🙂

How cool isn’t this? I must say, I am abit more fan of the shiny, glossy surface, but it is a cool change and a very good way to show you how all the glitter in there really looks like 😉

KleanColor Chunky Holo Scarlet over OPI Off With Her Red

Oh, I must say I think I’m very creative with my titles! Haha 🙂

Well, this is a mani I had last week, I haven’t been blogging for that long, so I don’t think any of you have gotten the feeling of actually knowing me, that you get after following a blog for a while, but I can say one thing; You very rarely see me in Pinks and Red. Im more of Purple, Blue and Green girl and sometimes an Orange and Coral girl 😛

So, this is one of the few times you get to see me wearing red:

This is 2 coats of OPI Off With Her Red from the Alice in Wonderland Collection from Spring 2010 with 2 coats of KleanColor Chunky Holo Scarlet on top.

I’m now way over half way in my spreadsheet 🙂 Spent 10 hours or so on it yesterday. So soon I will be able to share it with you if anyone is interested?And then you can also give me requests from the list if there’s anything you want me to show you.

I just got OPI Norwegian Salmon from Scandinavian Collection from all the way back in 1994!! I got it mainly because of the name, but it’s also a beautiful coral (salmon). I think that’ll be the next thing I’ll show you. It’s so old that even the print on the bottle is different.

Today we are going to celebrate Kenneth’s nephews 6 year old birthday and eat cake. Wohoo! 😀
